Fall planting

We planted several things last September in that new bed next to the greenhouse. I peeked at just one end and it looks like the garlic is doing fine. We'll wait and see on the rest.

By the way, we roasted some potatoes and turnips for dinner last night - delicious!

Spring harvest

We arrived at Hardrock yesterday, for a short visit, and discovered that spring is arriving here slowly. All danger of frost is not past, but at least there was no snow or ice hanging around.

Remember how we left here last October before the potatoes were really ready to harvest? Well, we found a few today but many of them had been discovered by the local rodents. Still, it's a first for us and exciting to have any vegetable winter over.

And there are lots more turnips, none of which appear to have been appreciated by the mice. Go figure.
